Updated: Nov 17, 2022

J Rister Custom Homes works in Lubbock, TX and the surrounding areas. As mentioned in another post, we will cover a 60 mile radius around Lubbock. This includes hot spot areas of growth in Lubbock right now where we are currently building: Shallowater, south Lubbock (Lubbock Cooper ISD) & west Lubbock (Frenship ISD/Wolfforth, TX): South Fork, The Trails, Abbey Glenn and others. New Home, Idalou, Abernathy, Lake Allen Henry and Ransom Canyon are also popular destinations.

No matter where you call home, we will come to you.

Lubbock has many changes in store, read below for more information.

“Where is the best place to live in Lubbock, TX? Here are the growing areas.”

South Lubbock has expanded rapidly, particularly the Lubbock Cooper School district. Also, west Lubbock has continued to expand along the Marsha Sharp corridor, from Milwaukee to Upland, encompassing the Frenship school district.  Many new businesses and restaurants have appeared in both areas.

On the rural front, New Home, Shallowater, and Idalou have grown rapidly in the past few years.  These areas will face increasing growth as the planned Lubbock Loop 88 will connect an even larger expanse than the current existing Loop 289.  Plans are in place to connect Wolfforth (Frenship ISD), Shallowater, and South Lubbock (Lubbock Cooper ISD). Construction begins 2030.

On the downtown front, much effort has been taken to revitalize buildings and create upscale condos, business spaces, and college housing.  Historic, charming, homes can be found here, particularly in the famed Tech Terrace area, along with a newly yet to be seen downtown park and dog green space.

Overall, Lubbock is growing, yet retains an enjoyable pace of life with little traffic and a small town feel.
